Activities coming up
With over 25 people attending the Crafty Affairs first session at the end of March, a new club was born! We had many different crafters, from a variety of locations, with a wide range of crafting interests – from crochet, knitting, hand and machine embroidery, cross-stitch, tapestry, patchworking and quilting to card craft, stamping and scrapbooking and even pottery and sculpture! It was fantastic to see so many samples of finished and ‘in-progress’ works that everyone enjoyed showing and chatting about, passing along hints and tips as they did so.
Crafty Affairs has been busy sourcing expertise for areas of interest expressed by members for our next few meetings:
Wednesday, 27th April: Crochet Corner: A beginners guide providing sample basic stitches and guidance on understanding patterns.
Tuesday 10th May: Demonstration by Quilters Dream of Andover who will also be bringing specially produced Starter Kits for members to purchase.
Wednesday 25th May: Form-a-Lines Corner: use the simplest of sewing stitches to amazing effect.
Relaxed and informal meetings take place at The Gill Nethercott Centre in Whitchurch with a £1.50 entrance fee, including refreshments, 7.30pm to 9.30pm.
In parallel to the crafting, at the same time and venue, on both dates there is an opportunity for people to enrol in an evening of drawing and/or painting skills, to suit all levels, including compete novices, with local artist, Damien Rochford at a cost of £10 for the 2 hour session (bring your own materials) For more information, please contact him direct 01256 896 770.
We look forward to seeing you!
